# Core Mechanics

Valiants: Arena centers around accessible, strategic gameplay that rewards thoughtful team-building, timing, and skillful resource management. Here's how the core mechanics come together:

**Valiant Selection & Team Building**

Players assemble teams of four Valiants with elemental types, unique skill cards, and specific roles. Some are good in powerful attacks, others specialize in defense, and some provide valuable support to teammates. Choosing complementary combinations of Valiants to counter opponents and maximize effectiveness is crucial to victory. Power-ups come in handy when building your team to empower their speed, defense, and other core mechanics that will make you unbeatable.

**Skill Card System**

Skill cards representing each Valiant's unique abilities shape the battles. Before each match, players strategically select a limited number of these cards, enhancing decision-making and tactical planning. Each card requires Spirit Points (SP), pushing players to manage their resources carefully throughout the battle.

**Strategic Battles**

During combat, players take turns activating skills and managing SP carefully to balance offense, defense, and utility. Skills timing matters, using a decisive move at the right moment can turn the tide, while poor decisions leave your team vulnerable. Matches are dynamic boasting the stage making each round aggresive, chaotic or defense. Adaptability and quick thinking are key in a fast-paced match where each decision will lead you closer to victory.
